(Sarah walks into a doorway and we see that there are stairs all over the place. And all of the stairs go in different directions.
She walks up, down, backwards, forwards to catch up with Toby, who is crawling all over the place, chasing one of Jareth's crystal balls.
Jareth watches and sings from afar.)
Jareth: (song) How you've turned my world, you precious thing
You starve and near exhaust me
Everything I've done, I've done for you
I move the stars for no one
You've fun so long
You've run so far,
Your eyes can be so cruel
Just as I can be so cruel
Though I do believe in you.
Yes, I do.
Live without your sunlight
Love without your heartbeat.
I can't live within you.
(she finally spots him sitting on a ledge.
She looks down at him from a staircase above.
She jumps to reach him, but when she lands, everything has changed. Toby is nowhere around.
She looks up and Jareth walks towards her.)
Sarah: Give me the child.
Jareth: Sarah, beware.
I have been generous up til now, but I can be cruel.
Sarah: Generous?
What have you done that's generous?
Jareth: Everything!
Everything that you wanted I have done.
You asked that the child be taken, I took him.
You cowered before me, I was frightening.
I have reordered time.
I have turned the world upside down and I have done it all for you!
I'm exhausted from living up to your expectations of me.
Isn't that generous?
Sarah: Through dangers untold, and hardships unnumbered, I have fought my way here to the castle beyond the Goblin City.
For my will is as strong as yours,
and my…
Jareth: Stop! Wait!
Look, Sarah.
Look at what I'm offering you. Your dreams.
Sarah: And kingdom is great…
Jareth: I ask for so little.
Just let me rule you, and you can have everything that you want.
Sarah: (trying to remember the next line) Kingdom is great…damn!
I can never remember that line.
Jareth: Just fear me, love me… do as I say, and I will be your slave.
Sarah: My kingdom is great…my kingdom is great…
(she remembers, and looks up at Jareth)
You have no power over me.
(The clock chimes. Her time in the Labyrinth is over. Jareth throws up his hands in regret as the Labyrinth world collapses around them. As the final chime of the clock sounds Sarah finds herself in her own house. Jareth has turned into an owl again and he flies out the window.)
